As the competition rages on in the smartphone industry, it’s almost a battlefield in China.
Huawei, one of the smartphone brands that often tops the chart is working hard to further stock its portfolio with smartphones that are competition-worthy and the new Huawei Nova 2i says so much about their efforts and determination to stay on the top.
Today, the 29th of September, Huawei Nova 2i, a new FullView display smartphone appeared on the Malaysian department of Vmall, which is Huawei’s official online retail store.
One of the most interesting features of this phone is the 4 cameras. A 13MP+2MP lens occupying the front for awesome selfies and 16MP+2MP On the back.
In case you don’t know, this device is the International variant of the Huawei Maimang 6 that was recently unveiled last week.
The Huawei Nova 2i was equipped with:
- 8-core Kirin 659 chipset
- 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage
- A fingerprint scanner (Not like Huawei have any choice other than to include it)
- A LED flash that has been integrated into the antenna band
- A 3340 mAh battery inside.
- Android 7.0.1 Nougat
- Huawei’s EMUI 5.1 on top
The Huawei Nova 2i is available in 3 colors which include Blue, Black, Gold.
Now, let’s talk about the display
The device sports the 18:9 aspect ratio which is associated with FullView display phones and it’s surrounded by few bezels on the top and bottom. The trend for bezel-less is almost taking over in China as Gionee M7 and M7 power, Vivo V7 plus couldn’t stop themselves from getting an almost-bezel-less display from their manufacturers.
Here is the final bullet this device will be sending your way, Huawei’s Nova 2i model comes with a set of gestures, meaning you can draw on the display in order to gain faster access to certain apps and features. For example, drawing an S with the knuckle captures a long screenshot, then tapping twice with two fingers starts screen recording while tapping twice with one finger takes a screenshot.
