Are you a GTBank customer? If yes. I want to also believe that you are conversant with the 737 service code that allows customers to perform a different kind of transaction like recharging your phone, check balance, transfer funds, paying your bills, even opening an account and many more.
GTBank is a very wonderful bank but they have been playing with your money’s safety by leaving the 737 service code insecure.
Here is why.
Transactions using the service code take less than a minute to conclude and it can be done at the comfort of your home, by just using the last four (4) digits of his ATM card.
Using just the last 4 digits of your ATM card isn’t secure enough because anyone who steals your phone and wallet at the same time and your ATM happened to be inside your wallet (where it is likely to be) can use the service to clear off all your hard-earned money even before you get to your bank.
But no worries, the service is now completely secured as they have added another layer of security. The service now requires a 4-digit PIN setup by you to be able to complete transactions on the platform. That is a more secure approach to the service than the previous use of your ATM card’s last 4 digits.
According to the instructions on GTBank’s website, here is how to create a PIN on the 737 platform:
- Dial *737*5# on the phone number that is linked to your account.
- Input the last 6 digits of your ATM debit card
- Create your 4-digit PIN
You will be asked for your 4-digit PIN to complete any transactions on the service, so make sure you don’t forget it.
