Few days to go. The curtains of 2016 will soon draw down to close the year and usher in a new year. While some companies were successful and enjoyed how their products trended in the Smartphone market in 2016, others didn’t even get the slightest of ecstasy and they are seriously preparing for next year’s showdown.

So many things happened in the smartphone world this year 2016.  From the release of great features ladened phones like the galaxy s7 and s7 edge and iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus – to the highly explosive Samsung galaxy note7 device that got Samsung into trouble and ruined their year.

With the faces of phones I am seeing being prepared for next year, I have this feeling that next year is going to be the year technology and innovations will take  on a significant transformation into that future we’ve always dreamt about.

Apple was the most successful company in the smartphone world in 2016.  When their iPhone 7 launched, it met good landings, and the company enjoyed it. They are not looking at to lose the battle to Samsung coming 2017.

Samsung is their closest competition. To Apple, the fight continues. Apple has prepared the beastly iPhone 8 to compete with other brands effectively and stand a chance of prevailing.

I don’t know if HTC intends to call this phone HTC Ocean or will they follow the HTC 10 trend and name it HTC 11.  But any name they finally decide to settle down with, the phone is still going to shake the market.
The phone is expected to launch in early 2017. The device is supposed to be powered by the Snapdragon 830, and will likely feature an impressive camera, perhaps one with an even higher resolution than the 12MP camera included in the HTC 10. Rumors also point to water resistance and a more powerful battery as candidates for inclusion in next year’s flagship.

So many things happened inside Microsoft during 2016. They even had to sell Nokia to a Finland company called HMD and Nokia is even cooking up a drop dead phone themselves to launch in 2017.
After Microsoft launched the Lumia 950 and 950xl, Microsoft believes they this phone to be a big game changer smartphone for them.
What this phone will look like is what nobody knows. We are all uncertain because when Microsoft absorbed Nokia, we were all aware that Nokia was the world most durable phone manufacturers and they brought those hands into Microsoft and mixed their hardware durability with Microsoft’s software to produce the Lumia series that we enjoyed so much.
What will Microsoft produce in the surface Phone without Nokia’s durable hardware? Only 2017 can tell. Let us wait in anticipation.

When I heard about the concept of the foldable phone, I never believed it could be possible until I saw a video about the phone on youtube. Still, with my mouth crying and my brain sweating, I am still waiting impatiently for this device.
It will be a turning point for the Samsung smartphone family as it will take their innovation a little bit forward ahead of other smartphone brands. Some companies are still yet to meet up with the edged concept but Samsung is introducing another concept.

The LG G6 will be the next launch on the LG G series. According to some rumors, it will be a larger phone from its predecessor, the G5.

An entirely new and different BlackBerry is coming our way, wait for it. The new unreleased Blackberry Mercury cropped up on GeekBench in late October.  Company CEO John Chen confirmed the existence.
